At first, it isn’t quite apparent whether these houses are objects of fact or fiction. Clothes lines, signal antennas, telephone wires, neon lights — everything that we’re accustomed to, except for one thing: all the houses seem to be suspended in mid air. Photographer Laurent Chehere creates intriguing little worlds in each house, and appeals to the imagination as much as he appeals to the intellect. Funny how a house that you might simply pass on by on the street somehow looks like it has so many more stories to tell when it is isolated, floating, and set against a pastel-hued sky.
