If the eyes are the windows to the soul, then the subjects of Chinese photographer Wang Ningde’s unsettling portraits are forever closed off to the world around them. Drawing on the themes of constant change and the haunting memories of the Cultural Revolution, Wang’s photos are a revisit to the photographer’s memories of his childhood and traditional family life. His photos will be on exhibition at the ArtScience Museum at Marina Bay until the 2nd of November, 2014, as part of the Singapore International Photography Festival (SIPF).
