A video commissioned by style magazine and style:MEN, and a collaboration with The Boy Who Cried Action this short-titled ‘Ebb & Flow’ is an expression of time, as inspired by Tudor’s Chronograph Heritage Blue. Influenced by the carefree warmth and glamour of the Mediterranean and holiday destinations of the 60s and 70s, this elegant yet sporty piece pays homage to Tudor’s original 1970 Montecarlo Chronograph.
Here, the watch’s bright tangerine and stark white hues are translated onto the female model, Vidmante from Upfront Models, body and face, while ribbons of blue are looped around her hand and body—a poetic representation of the tendrils of time. Engulfed in a sea of blue, the model remains rooted to the spot, while time (metaphorically represented by the ribbons) washes over her. Movements are slow, slightly pained and controlled—an expression of how one is ultimately bound by the indefinite, infinite and almost-morbid concept of time.
The piece concludes, and the model fades out gradually—a slow quietude of eventual rest.
