Rolling grey clouds that mirror placid waves, shadows that dance and tail by moonlight. Such imagery takes effect in our minds when serenaded by the beguiling melodies of Aspidistrafly.

Playing a flickeringly filmic mixture of ambient folk with gossamer-like vocal harmonies, guitar-based drones wrap listeners in a delicate blanket of lo-fi haziness. April’s beguiling visions and lyrics form the backbone of the band’s storytelling. One of our favourite tracks, ‘ Sea of Glass’,  the album’s mysterious atmosphere is also softly accentuated by hazy telephone rings and  muffled monologues that cast its utterances throughout A Little Fable’s audio dream sequence.

Aspidistrafly consists of locally born-and-bred composer and vocalist April Lee  and producer Ricks Ang.  The band also composed the ambient track to Jun Okamoto’s latest runway showcase at Audi Fashion Festival.
