There are some people who are simply unafraid of hard work; it might please them to spend hours toiling away at their craft, in the hope of achieving a specific outcome that they have envisioned in their mind’s eye. Artist Amy Bennett is one such person. To create her paintings, Bennett works in a rather unusual process. First, she builds a miniature 3D model of the scene, and then she translates the final model onto canvas, adding in other elements to tell a story. At times looking like dollhouses, the scenes have a tone and technique reminiscent of Edward Hopper, bringing both isolation and detachment to mind.
