Shakespere’s opening monologue phrase from ‘As you like it’ transcends time and culture while viewing the theatrically stunning work of Maleonn, a China-based photographer from Shanghai. Growing up during the last years of China’s cultural revolution, with his actress mother and his father, the director of the Beijing Opera, it’s not difficult to guess where Maleonn’s inspiration stems; dark-tinted humor injected with crazy cool.
